PO-100 Port Entry Requirements, Rev. 4/24/63

• 1. The reactor must be operated prior to a port entry in accordance with the restricted power history requirement stipulated for the particular port. The power history requirement will be outlined in the Port Operating Plan for each individual port.
• 2. Within the twenty-four hours prior to making a port entry and at least weekly thereafter until departure is taken from the port, the following checks shall be made:
  • a. The alternate reactor compartment ventilation system equipment shall be demonstrated to be in an operable condition.
  • b. The take home motor shall be demonstrated in both the forward and reverse directions. However, this may be done with the motor uncoupled.
• 3. An adequate evacuation control zone shall be established about the ship while in port. The basis for establishment of the zone will be set forth for the individual ports in the Port Operating Plan covering that particular port.
• 4. Two tugs will accompany the vessel during transit of the harbor area.
• 5. Two tugs (or more if required by local conditions) shall be on 30-minute call while the ship is at berth.
• 6. Within twenty-four hours after docking, an emergency evacuation drill shall be performed to demonstrate that the ship can be evacuated of unessential personnel within thirty minutes.
• 7. The total number of visitors aboard ship at any one time shall not exceed 750 people.
• 8. Weekly drills shall be performed as follows:
  • a. Fire Drill.
  • b. Boat Drill.
  • c. Radiation Emergency Drill.
• 9. All other restrictions imposed by the Technical Specifications and Operating Specifications shall be complied with, along with the special instructions covering the particular port as outlined in the Port Operating Plan for the port.
